Just Makers will be moving to a new home in Skipton this summer!
Over the years, Just Makers has grown as a business, with more artists joining us, an expanding workshop programme and increasing numbers of customers discovering our products from across the UK and beyond. As we continue to grow as a business, the time feels right for this next step.
Our new Skipton premises will allow Just Makers to grow into a larger and more flexible space that still has room for workshops but also the potential for other events, artist residencies and a wider range of carefully curated handmade work. The move also brings greater long term stability and the opportunity to reach more visitors year round.
Yet, while we continue to grow, our values will remain the same. Just Makers will continue to focus on well made work by independent artists, with a strong emphasis on traditional craftsmanship, originality and supporting small creative businesses.
Ripley has played a critical role in the Just Makers story and we are grateful for the support received there over the years. Our shop in Ripley has been part of the wider independent business community within the village, and the relationships built with customers, artists, workshop attendees and neighbouring businesses have helped shape what Just Makers is today.
So, while our main shop will be moving to Skipton, we intend to keep at least a little of the Just Makers spirit alive in Ripley. This will involve plans for collaborations with existing businesses and using other available space in the village to run workshops when we can.
It's a given that Ripley will always be a part of Just Makers and we have no intention to cut all ties to what is a very special village.
That said, we are also extremely excited about what is to come for our business as we grow and evolve and the additional opportunities this will allow us to provide to the artists we work alongside.
More details about the new shop, opening dates and plans for this next chapter will be shared very soon.
In the meantime, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Just Makers. This next step is an exciting one and we can't wait to welcome both familiar and new faces to Skipton very soon.
