Refund policy
Returns & Refunds Policy
Last updated: September 2026
We hope you are happy with your purchase from Just Makers. If you need to return something or there is a problem with your order, the information below explains what to do.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
1. Changing Your Mind About an Online Purchase
For most products purchased through our website, you have the right to change your mind and cancel your purchase.
You must tell us that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order.
After telling us that you wish to cancel, you have a further 14 days to return the item to us.
To notify us of a return, please email contact@justmakers.co.uk with your name and order details.
You do not need to give us a reason for cancelling.
2. Returning Your Item
Please return the item to:
Just Makers
16 Craven Court
High Street
Skipton
North Yorkshire
BD23 1DG
Unless the item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, you are responsible for the cost of returning it to us.
We strongly recommend using an appropriate tracked delivery service and obtaining proof of postage. For valuable or original artwork, we recommend using a service with insurance sufficient to cover the value of the item.
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of an item while it is in your possession and while returning it.
You may inspect and handle an item as you reasonably would if viewing it in a shop. If its value has been reduced because it has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, we may be entitled to reduce the refund accordingly.
3. Items Where the Right to Cancel May Not Apply
The statutory right to change your mind does not apply to certain types of goods. These can include:
-
goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you
-
goods that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly
-
sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons if they have been unsealed after delivery
-
other goods or services specifically excluded from the statutory cancellation right
This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
A product being handmade does not, by itself, mean that it cannot be returned.
4. Sale and Reduced Items
Your statutory rights apply to sale and reduced items in the same way as they apply to full-price items.
If a sale item was purchased online and the statutory right to cancel applies, it may be returned in accordance with this policy.
This does not affect any additional conditions applying to purchases made in person.
5. Purchases Made in Our Gallery
There is no general statutory right to return an item purchased in person simply because you have changed your mind. However, Just Makers offers the following additional returns policy for purchases made in our gallery.
If you change your mind, you may return an item:
- within 14 days of purchase for a refund to the original payment method; or
- within 28 days of purchase for an exchange or Just Makers credit.
Items must be unused, in their original condition, suitable for resale and accompanied by proof of purchase.
Our voluntary change-of-mind policy does not apply to personalised or custom-made items, perishable goods, earrings for pierced ears, or gift cards.
This policy is in addition to your statutory rights. If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of consumer law, your statutory rights still apply.
6. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described, or we have sent you the wrong item, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at contact@justmakers.co.uk.
Please include your order details and, where helpful, photographs showing the problem.
We will work with you to resolve the issue in accordance with your statutory rights. Depending on the circumstances, this may include a refund, repair or replacement.
Where we ask you to return faulty, damaged or incorrect goods, we will cover reasonable return costs.
7. Refunds for Online Cancellations
Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel an online purchase, we will refund the price paid for the returned goods.
Where applicable, we will also refund the cost of our standard delivery service. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, such as express delivery, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our standard delivery service.
We will normally issue your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, or within 14 days of receiving satisfactory evidence that you have sent them back, where applicable.
Refunds will normally be made using the payment method used for the original purchase.
Your bank, card issuer or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund in your account after we have processed it.
If you paid using Klarna or another third-party payment provider, the refund will be processed through that provider.
8. Gift Cards
Gift cards are subject to the terms provided when they are purchased.
Where a refund is due for something originally purchased using a Just Makers gift card, the relevant amount may be refunded to the original gift card or provided as equivalent store credit where appropriate.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights that apply to the original purchase of a gift card.
9. Workshop Cancellation Policy
Workshop places are provided for a specific date and time. The usual statutory 14-day cooling-off period applying to many online purchases does not generally apply to bookings for leisure activities taking place on a specified date.
Customer Cancellations
If you need to cancel a workshop booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
More than one calendar month before the workshop
You will receive a full refund.
Between one calendar month and 14 days before the workshop
We will provide a credit note for the full amount paid, which can be used towards a future Just Makers workshop.
Within 14 days of the workshop
Workshop places cancelled within 14 days are normally non-refundable because at this stage we may be unable to refill the place and will have committed costs associated with running the workshop.
If we are able to fill your place, we may offer a credit note or transfer to another workshop.
You are also welcome to send another person in your place. Please contact us beforehand with the substitute attendee's details.
These terms do not affect any statutory rights you may have where the workshop is not provided as agreed.
Workshop Bookings Paid for With a Gift Card or Voucher
The same workshop cancellation periods apply where a workshop has been booked using a Just Makers gift card or voucher.
Where a refund or credit is due for a booking paid using a gift card or voucher, it will normally be returned to the original gift card, voucher or equivalent store credit rather than paid in cash.
Cancellations by Just Makers
Occasionally we may need to cancel a workshop because of circumstances such as tutor illness or another event outside our reasonable control.
If Just Makers cancels a workshop, you will be offered a full refund of the workshop price paid or, if you prefer and where available, a transfer to another workshop.
We recommend that you do not make non-refundable travel or accommodation arrangements specifically for a workshop. We cannot normally reimburse consequential costs such as travel or accommodation where a workshop has to be cancelled, except where the law requires otherwise.
