Paul Edmondson is a multi-media artist creating landscape paintings in acrylic, oils, photography and mixed media. Inspired by the landscapes of northern England, his work explores light, atmosphere and memory through richly textured surfaces and expressive mark making.
After studying at Burnley College of Art and completing a BA in Fine Art at Trent Polytechnic, Paul developed a practice that spans painting, photography and mixed media. His landscapes draw on the colours, textures and changing light of the countryside, balancing observation with a more intuitive response to place.
Working with layered paint and mixed media, Paul creates original paintings that range from semi-abstract landscapes to more representational scenes. Each piece reflects his interest in texture, colour and the changing character of the landscape, resulting in work that feels both contemporary and rooted in the natural world.
