Alex Macey is a seasoned local stonemason. He originally trained as a banker mason, honing his skills in traditional stone yards where he carved stone to precise templates. This was often for the restoration of church windows and architectural details like cornices, string courses, hood moulds, and arches. For the past 18 years, Alex has specialised in working on historic and listed buildings, applying his craftsmanship to stone repair and restoration, lime pointing, intricate stone carving, and dry stone walling.
