Matty Burnham

Based near Leeds, illustrator Matty Burnham creates vibrant ink and watercolour artworks that celebrate the landscapes, towns and coastlines of the British Isles.

Originally from Cumbria, Matty's love of nature and heritage buildings shines through in his work that ranges from Lakeland cottages to Highland lochs and Northumbrian castles.

Matty’s distinctive style combines delicate linework with washes of colour that capture light, texture and atmosphere in a positive and uplifting style. Working on cotton watercolour paper, he embraces granulation and vivid tones, avoiding greys in favour of purples and rich hues that bring depth and warmth to his scenes.

His work has been widely shared and collected, and alongside prints and cards Matty has also created a popular watercolour colouring book that invites others to explore their own creativity.
