Sarah Jane Nicholls Art

Sarah Jane Nicholls is a self-taught artist based near Wetherby, Yorkshire, who has turned a lifelong love of painting into a thriving creative career. Since moving from London in 2008, she’s been deeply inspired by the colours and textures of the Yorkshire landscape, particularly its ever-changing trees and countryside.

Sarah specialises in painting on glass and acrylic, using a reverse painting technique that requires her to work in careful layers, starting with foreground details and building backwards. Her vibrant pieces often feature pointillist-style dot work and bold colour palettes that bring landscapes, wildflower meadows and abstract designs vividly to life. Her unique method gives her work a sense of depth, movement, and eye-catching originality.
