Kissed Frog Ceramics

Kathleen Hepworth is the ceramic artist behind Kissed Frog Ceramics, working from her rural home on the Yorkshire coast.

Using predominantly stoneware clay, Kathleen creates both wheel-thrown and handbuilt ceramics, finishing each piece with layers of coloured slips and glazes. Every pot is individually decorated by hand, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike.

Her work is rooted in a lifelong interest in plants and flowers, combined with a background in design that continues to influence her use of form, pattern and colour. While nature provides the starting point, the finished pieces often move beyond direct observation into something more expressive and imaginative.

Kathleen's work continues to evolve as she explores new ideas and surface decoration, producing ceramics that are equally at home as functional objects or decorative pieces. Each one reflects both technical skill and a willingness to experiment, resulting in a collection that is distinctive, and considered.
