Holloway and Dillon

Holloway + Dillon is the work of Susan Holloway, a designer and maker based in Harrogate, Yorkshire. Her porcelain pieces bring together a background in fashion and textiles with a love of drawing, materials and making by hand.

Susan trained in Fashion & Textiles in Manchester and ran her own fashion business before spending more than twenty years teaching and leading fashion programmes. She is also the author of The Fundamentals of Fashion Management and was part of the founding team at JCA | London Fashion Academy.

After retiring from teaching, Susan bought her first kiln and began making her Whispered Porcelain collection in 2025. She draws, cuts, shapes and assembles everything by hand, enjoying the unpredictability of porcelain and the differences that emerge in each piece.

Botanical marks, a monochrome palette and recurring forms connect her work, but no two pieces are quite the same. Her fashion background continues to inform her approach to line, proportion and movement, particularly in how a piece sits when worn. She is also exploring combinations of porcelain and silver, taking her work in increasingly sculptural and experimental directions.
