Terms of service

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Service apply to purchases from Just Makers through www.justmakers.co.uk and, where relevant, purchases made in our physical gallery.

Please read these terms before placing an order. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About Us

Just Makers is an independent gallery and online store selling original art, handmade craft and selected gifts, with a particular focus on work by Yorkshire-based artists.

You can contact us at:

Just Makers
16 Craven Court
High Street
Skipton
North Yorkshire

Email: contact@justmakers.co.uk

2. Products

Many of the items we sell are individually made or produced in small quantities.

We make reasonable efforts to describe and photograph products accurately. Because of the materials and processes involved, handmade items may have small variations in colour, texture, dimensions, pattern or finish. These variations are not necessarily faults.

Colours may also appear slightly different depending on the screen or device being used.

Nothing in this section affects your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of consumer law.

3. Prices and Payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP).

Any applicable delivery charges will be shown before you complete your order.

We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout. We may also offer payment through third-party payment providers, including Klarna.

If you choose Klarna or another third-party payment service, your use of that payment method may also be subject to the provider's own terms and eligibility requirements.

We take reasonable care to ensure that prices are correct. If we discover an obvious pricing error after you place an order, we will contact you. You will have the option to purchase the item at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.

Prices, products and promotions may occasionally differ between our website and physical gallery.

4. Orders

After placing an online order, you will receive an order confirmation using the contact information you provided.

All orders are subject to availability.

Occasionally an item may have sold in our physical gallery before our online stock information has updated. If we are unable to supply something you have ordered, we will contact you and refund the amount paid for that item.

We may also decline or cancel an order where there is an obvious pricing or listing error, payment cannot be authorised, or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, the appropriate amount will be refunded.

5. Delivery

We currently deliver to addresses in the UK.

Available delivery services, charges and estimated delivery times are shown on our website and at checkout.

Unless another delivery period has been agreed with you, we will aim to deliver your order within the period required by applicable consumer law.

Please see our Shipping Policy for further information.

6. Online Cancellation and Returns

If you purchase most goods through our website, you have a legal right to change your mind and cancel the purchase.

You normally have 14 days from the day after you receive the goods to tell us that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

There are exceptions to this right, including certain personalised or custom-made products, perishable goods and sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken.

Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details and instructions.

These cancellation rights are separate from your statutory rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

7. Purchases Made in Our Gallery

The statutory right to cancel an online purchase because you have changed your mind does not generally apply to purchases made in person in our gallery.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet the requirements of consumer law.

8. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods

Goods sold by Just Makers must meet the standards required by UK consumer law, including being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose where applicable.

If you believe an item is faulty, damaged or not as described, please contact us at contact@justmakers.co.uk.

Nothing in these Terms or our Returns & Refunds Policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

9. Workshops

Workshop places are sold for a specific date and time and are subject to our Workshop Cancellation Policy, which forms part of our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Because workshops are leisure activities provided on a specified date, the usual statutory 14-day cancellation right applying to many online purchases does not generally apply to workshop bookings.

Please check the workshop date, time, location and other details carefully before booking.

If Just Makers cancels a workshop, we will offer a full refund of the workshop price paid.

10. Gift Cards

Just Makers gift cards may be used towards eligible purchases in accordance with the terms provided when the gift card is purchased.

Gift cards have no cash value and cannot normally be exchanged for cash, except where required by law.

Any validity period or other restrictions applicable to a gift card will be made clear when it is purchased.

Where a purchase is refunded and was originally paid for using a gift card, the appropriate refund may be returned to the original gift card or provided as equivalent store credit where appropriate.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

11. Discounts and Promotional Codes

Discount codes and promotions may be subject to additional terms, including expiry dates, minimum spends, eligible products or exclusions.

Unless stated otherwise, promotional codes cannot be combined with other offers.

We may refuse or cancel the use of a promotional code where it has expired, does not meet the stated conditions or has been used improperly.

12. Refunds and Payment Providers

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.

Where you paid using Klarna or another third-party payment provider, refunds will be processed through the relevant payment provider and may also be subject to its processing procedures.

Please see our Returns & Refunds Policy for further information.

13. Privacy

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how and why we use it, the organisations we may share it with and your data protection rights.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of our website, including our branding, written content, product descriptions, photographs and graphics, belongs to Just Makers, the relevant artist or another rights holder.

Content must not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used commercially without the permission of the relevant rights holder.

Purchasing an artwork or product does not transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights in that work to the purchaser.

15. Our Responsibility to You

We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts your statutory rights relating to goods or services supplied by us.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, services or legal obligations.

The Terms applying to an order will normally be those in force when the order is placed. Updated Terms will be published on our website with a revised date.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or another country, you may also have rights under mandatory consumer laws that apply where you live.
