Harrogate Chocolate Factory

Harrogate Chocolate Factory Logo

Harrogate Chocolate Factory is a social enterprise with a big heart, run by HS4LC’s Skills Bridge programmes. Its mission is to support young people with learning disabilities and autism, helping them gain the skills and confidence they need to move into paid employment.

By making and selling artisan chocolate, the team not only creates delicious treats but also meaningful opportunities that change lives.

The idea for the factory came from a shared passion for wellbeing, healthy eating and sustainable living. After researching the growing demand for nutritious, less processed snacks, the team realised that chocolate could be both indulgent and good for you. Dark chocolate, in particular, fits perfectly with their ethos — it’s rich, satisfying and can be made without unnecessary additives. The production process also offers an ideal way for students to learn transferable skills in a supportive, creative environment.

Based in Harrogate, the factory produces vegan-friendly, gluten-free and dairy-free chocolate that’s as inclusive as it is delicious. In early 2024, Harrogate Chocolate Factory became an accredited member of Social Enterprise UK, joining a nationwide network of businesses dedicated to making a positive difference.
