Each month an artist takes over the top-floor studio space at Just Makers, giving visitors the chance to see their work, learn more about how it's made and, on selected days, meet the artist while they're working.
October: Katy Small of Felted Yarns
Katy Small is a Yorkshire textile artist working with wool and traditional wet felting techniques to create richly textured products and landscapes.
Inspired by the Yorkshire countryside, she builds her work from layers of wool and fibre, using colour and texture to capture the landscape in a very different way from paint.
Throughout October, Katy will be taking over our top floor as Artist in Residence, with finished work and examples of her process on display. On selected days, you can also meet Katy in the studio and see her at work.

Even when Katy isn't here, the Artist in Residence studio remains open whenever the gallery is open, with Katy's work and information about her process on display.
