RJB Photographic

Black and white photographic print of five sheep standing in snow, with a white border and a small credit in the lower left reading 'Sheep by Richard Burdon'.

RJB Photographic is husband-and-wife team Richard and Janet Burdon. Established in 2006, they are based in Pickering, on the edge of the North York Moors.

Drawn to wild and remote places, they photograph the moors and rugged coastline, as well as travelling further afield to Scotland’s Western Isles and the Arctic regions of Norway and Greenland.

Their work has evolved from traditional landscape photography towards a more pared-back approach, exploring light, shape and atmosphere. A lone tree in a snow-covered field can become the focus of an image, its simplicity conveying a sense of place and season.

A selection of their photographs features in our Winter Stillness exhibition at Just Makers.
