Felts By Hannah Profile Photo_Just Makers

Hannah is a Yorkshire-based fibre artist working with wool to create colourful, textured pieces influenced by landscape, place and the materials themselves.

Growing up in Yorkshire, Hannah later spent several years living in the Caribbean before returning home. The contrast between the Yorkshire landscape and the colour and atmosphere of the Caribbean continues to influence her work.

Hannah mainly works with second-hand and reclaimed wool, allowing the colours and materials she has available to help shape each piece rather than beginning with a fixed design. This intuitive approach means that individual works develop through the making process, exploring combinations of colour, texture and form.

Having worked with fibre for around two years, Hannah continues to explore the possibilities of wool as an artistic medium. Her work brings together her Yorkshire roots, Caribbean influences and an interest in creating new pieces from materials that already exist.
