Art by Minu

Minu Achrekar is a Leeds-based artist whose work is inspired by the landscapes and natural forms of Yorkshire.
Working primarily with alcohol inks, Minu uses concentrated alcohol, air and movement rather than traditional brushwork to manipulate the inks across the surface. The unpredictable nature of the medium plays an important part in her process, creating flowing forms and intense areas of colour.
Trees, paths, sunlight and moonlight appear frequently in her paintings, often used as symbols of guidance, connection and memory. Her work draws on the restorative qualities of the natural world and her own response to the landscape around her.
Minu completed the Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute in 2024 and has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. Her work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions, art fairs and private collections around the world. In 2024 she received a juried award from Leeds Civic Trust, with her work subsequently included in a Leeds city calendar.
