Join designer and leatherworker Katie Roe in a creative workshop making a set of personalised Christmas tree decorations from premium leather.
You will select from a range of designs and make three beautiful leather decorations that can be personalised with initials. Using neutral leather colours you will create unique hanging decorations that can include colourful bauble detailing, foils and lettering in de-bossed or coloured options. You will learn how to burnish edges, add silver or brass rivets and how to operate the hot-foil machine to personalise your creations.
Katie, a skilled leather worker, former fashion designer and current lecturer at Leeds Arts University will share her passion and knowledge of design & leather craft throughout the workshop. It's the perfect chance to make thoughtful Christmas gifts for loved ones or to create your very own tree decorations that will last a lifetime. A cotton drawstring bag will add the finishing touch to take your pieces home in.
All materials & aprons are provided.
The workshop is suitable for those who have never picked up a leather crafting tool, as well as the more experienced makers who love to learn new skills.

Where are Workshops Held?
Unless otherwise stated, our workshops take place in the spacious, light-filled gallery room on the first floor of Just Makers in Craven Court, Skipton.
Please note that the workshop room is accessed via one flight of stairs. Toilet facilities are available on site.
What Do I Bring?
Just bring yourselves!
All materials will be provided unless we let you know otherwise.
We’ll have refreshments ready for you on arrival. If your workshop runs all day, please note that lunch isn’t provided. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit the various tea rooms and coffee shops very close by.
If your workshop is likely to get a bit messy, we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting creative in!
Car Parking
Car parks are available very close to Craven Court. The closest car park is High Street Car park (BD23 1ED) and we are a 5 minute walk.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes plans change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.
Please note the following terms for workshop cancellations:
- Cancellations made one calendar month or more before the workshop: You’ll receive a full refund.
- Between one month and 14 days before the workshop: We’ll issue a credit note for the full amount which you can use towards a future workshop.
- Cancellations less than 14 days in advance: We’ll do our best to fill your spot. If we’re able to, we’ll offer a transfer or credit note towards another workshop. If not, we’re sorry but we can’t offer a refund.
Gift vouchers
If you booked using a gift voucher, please note that we’re unable to offer cash refunds. However we’ll follow the same cancellation terms and issue a credit note where applicable.
If we cancel
If we ever need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund. Sadly we can’t accept responsibility for travel or other costs you may have incurred.
