Learn the traditional techniques of appliqué in this full-day workshop with experienced quilter Jacqueline of Bee-Spoke Quilts. You'll explore both hand and machine appliqué while creating your own design to incorporate into a cushion cover.
Working in a small group, you'll receive individual guidance throughout the day as you learn techniques that can be used in future quilting and textile projects.

Christmas-themed templates will also be available for those who would like to create a seasonal design.
Who is it for?
This workshop is suitable for beginners with basic sewing machine experience. You should be able to sew straight lines and curves, cut shapes from a template and follow simple sewing instructions.

- Your own sewing machine
- A full equipment list will be sent after booking
Rotary cutters, cutting mats and irons are provided alongside printed handouts and plenty of inspiration. Group sizes are kept small to ensure individual support throughout the day.

Where are Workshops Held?
Unless otherwise stated, our workshops take place in the spacious, light-filled gallery room on the first floor of Just Makers in Craven Court, Skipton.
Please note that the workshop room is accessed via one flight of stairs. Toilet facilities are available on site.
What Do I Bring?
Just bring yourselves!
All materials will be provided unless we let you know otherwise.
We’ll have refreshments ready for you on arrival. If your workshop runs all day, please note that lunch isn’t provided. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit the various tea rooms and coffee shops very close by.
If your workshop is likely to get a bit messy, we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting creative in!
Car Parking
Car parks are available very close to Craven Court. The closest car park is High Street Car park (BD23 1ED) and we are a 5 minute walk.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes plans change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.
Please note the following terms for workshop cancellations:
- Cancellations made one calendar month or more before the workshop: You’ll receive a full refund.
- Between one month and 14 days before the workshop: We’ll issue a credit note for the full amount which you can use towards a future workshop.
- Cancellations less than 14 days in advance: We’ll do our best to fill your spot. If we’re able to, we’ll offer a transfer or credit note towards another workshop. If not, we’re sorry but we can’t offer a refund.
Gift vouchers
If you booked using a gift voucher, please note that we’re unable to offer cash refunds. However we’ll follow the same cancellation terms and issue a credit note where applicable.
If we cancel
If we ever need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund. Sadly we can’t accept responsibility for travel or other costs you may have incurred.
