Sanders & Wallace Glassmakers

Andrew Sanders and David Wallace are celebrated British glassmakers whose collaborative journey began in 1974 at North Staffordshire Polytechnic. Initially trained in ceramics, their shared fascination with hot glass and blown glass techniques led them to establish a partnership that has spanned over four decades.
After graduating in 1977, Sanders and Wallace set up their first workshop in Shropshire, later relocating to Otley, West Yorkshire, and eventually settling in Pateley Bridge in 1992.
Throughout their careers, they have maintained individual creative identities while collaborating closely, drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as landscapes, architecture, and everyday life. Their work is renowned for capturing the spontaneous qualities of molten glass, resulting in pieces that are both unique and evocative.
Over the years, their creations have been featured in numerous galleries and exhibitions, reflecting their commitment to craftsmanship and innovation. Although their workshop has since closed, the legacy of Sanders and Wallace endures through their extensive body of work, which continues to inspire and captivate collectors and glass enthusiasts.
