Join experienced and enthusiastic quilter Jacqueline from Bee-Spoke Quilts for a relaxed and inspiring quilting workshop.

Each of the workshop options below will focus on a different quilting technique, perfect for beginners and improvers who want to build confidence and develop their skills.

You can book one workshop or come along to all three — each session stands alone but complements the others beautifully.

Friday 30th January 2026 – Log Cabin Block
Discover the timeless Log Cabin block quilting method, piecing fabric strips to form a striking design. You’ll complete a cushion cover while gaining key patchwork skills.
Skills covered: fabric selection, rotary cutting, accurate piecing, constructing the Log Cabin block.

Friday 13th February 2026 – Appliqué Methods
Learn the machine appliqué method to create decorative designs and pictorial effects using cut-out fabric shapes. You’ll explore design ideas and incorporate your finished piece into a cushion cover.
Skills covered: machine sewing appliqué, design planning, assembling a cushion front.

Friday 20th March 2026 – Fun with Triangles
Explore the art of creating triangles and how to use them to form beautiful geometric designs., resulting in a beautiful cushion cover.
Skills covered: making and joining triangles, forming patterns, using triangles in borders.

Skill level: Beginner / Improver
Time: 10am–1pm

You’ll need to bring:

  • Your own sewing machine

  • A full equipment list will be sent after booking

We’ll provide:

  • Handouts

  • Rotary cutters, cutting mats, and an iron

  • Refreshments

  • Plenty of ideas and inspiration!

Where are Workshops Held?

Unless otherwise stated, our workshops take place in the spacious, light-filled room above our shop in the Clock Tower at Ripley. It’s a lovely space that’s perfect for getting creative.

Please note that the workshop room is accessed via one flight of stairs. Toilet facilities are available on site.
What Do I Bring?

Just bring yourselves!
All materials will be provided unless we let you know otherwise.

We’ll have refreshments ready for you on arrival. If your workshop runs all day, please note that lunch isn’t provided. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit the tearoom or coffee shop in Ripley Castle Courtyard.

If your workshop is likely to get a bit messy, we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting creative in!
Car Parking

You’re welcome to park in the car park next to Ripley Castle Courtyard — it’s just a short walk from our shop.

Parking is free for workshop attendees, but please let us know your car registration number when you arrive so we can make sure you’re covered for the day.
Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes plans change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.

Please note the following terms for workshop cancellations:

  • Cancellations made one calendar month or more before the workshop: You’ll receive a full refund.
  • Between one month and 14 days before the workshop: We’ll issue a credit note for the full amount which you can use towards a future workshop.
  • Cancellations less than 14 days in advance: We’ll do our best to fill your spot. If we’re able to, we’ll offer a transfer or credit note towards another workshop. If not, we’re sorry but we can’t offer a refund.

Gift vouchers
If you booked using a gift voucher, please note that we’re unable to offer cash refunds. However we’ll follow the same cancellation terms and issue a credit note where applicable.

If we cancel
If we ever need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund. Sadly we can’t accept responsibility for travel or other costs you may have incurred.
