Leather Plant Pot Hanger Workshop with Katie Roe
Saturday 13 September
10.30am - 3pm
Join designer and leatherworker Katie Roe for a creative workshop where you’ll craft your very own leather plant hanger using premium vegetable tanned leather. In this relaxed and hands-on session, Katie will introduce you to basic leatherwork techniques such as burnishing edges, punching holes, and adding screws and rivets... all the skills you need to create a beautifully finished, one-of-a-kind piece.
You’ll choose from tan or nude leather and customise your design with a variety of rope colours, trims, and detailing.
For a personalised touch, try your hand at the hot foil machine to monogram initials or add a fun “feed me” tag in your choice of foil colours or debossed lettering. A mix of vintage and reclaimed plant pots will be available to complement your hanger (please note: pot availability varies and is subject to change with each workshop).
Katie brings her wealth of experience as a former fashion designer and current fashion lecturer to the day, offering insight into sustainable design and the craftsmanship behind vegetable tanned leather.
All tools, materials, and aprons are provided, and each hanger comes with a dust bag, making it a perfect gift for you or someone else.
Please note: The workshop price includes your handmade leather plant hanger, a plant pot, and a dust bag. Plants are not included.

Where are Workshops Held?
Unless otherwise stated, our workshops take place in the spacious, light-filled room above our shop in the Clock Tower at Ripley. It’s a lovely space that’s perfect for getting creative.
Please note that the workshop room is accessed via one flight of stairs. Toilet facilities are available on site.
What Do I Bring?
Just bring yourselves!
All materials will be provided unless we let you know otherwise.
We’ll have refreshments ready for you on arrival. If your workshop runs all day, please note that lunch isn’t provided. You’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit the tearoom or coffee shop in Ripley Castle Courtyard.
If your workshop is likely to get a bit messy, we recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting creative in!
Car Parking
You’re welcome to park in the car park next to Ripley Castle Courtyard — it’s just a short walk from our shop.
Parking is free for workshop attendees, but please let us know your car registration number when you arrive so we can make sure you’re covered for the day.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that sometimes plans change, and we’ll always do our best to be fair.
Please note the following terms for workshop cancellations:
- Cancellations made one calendar month or more before the workshop: You’ll receive a full refund.
- Between one month and 14 days before the workshop: We’ll issue a credit note for the full amount which you can use towards a future workshop.
- Cancellations less than 14 days in advance: We’ll do our best to fill your spot. If we’re able to, we’ll offer a transfer or credit note towards another workshop. If not, we’re sorry but we can’t offer a refund.
Gift vouchers
If you booked using a gift voucher, please note that we’re unable to offer cash refunds. However we’ll follow the same cancellation terms and issue a credit note where applicable.
If we cancel
If we ever need to cancel a workshop due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll give you as much notice as possible and offer a full refund. Sadly we can’t accept responsibility for travel or other costs you may have incurred.
